Kitzbuhel is a beautiful town located 1.5-2 hours south of Munich, Germany, nestled in the Alps of northern Austria.
You can either rent a car (highly recommend), take a train, or rent a private car to get to Kitzbuhel. Kitzbuhel is highly accessible by car or train, if travelling from any other parts of Europe. Please see below for helpful links to transportation and hotels.

If you are traveling internationally, the closest airport is located in Munich, Germany (MUC). If travelling from another location in Europe you can fly, take a car, or take a train. The nearest airport if traveling from another location within Europe is the Salzburg Airport (SZG). See below for further details regarding transportation options.

The price of a rental car can vary anywhere from €80/day - €200/day depending on the size and brand of the car. We personally recommend renting a car to drive to Kitzbuhel, as it keeps you more flexible.
The website below is a link to the rental car options from the Munich airport, but you can use any general car rental (Avis, Europcar, Sixt, etc.) to book a rent car in Europe. You can change the language to English on the top right of the website below.
PLEASE NOTE: Before you cross the highway from Germany to Austria, you need to stop at a gas station (Raststätte) and purchase a "Vignette" to place on your windshield. Simply ask the cashier at the gas station for one. This is the fee that Austria charges tourists to drive on their highways.
A train ticket from Munich to Kitzbuhel costs about €25-€40. Please note you will have to switch trains, as there is no direct train from Munich to Kitzbuhel.
If you are traveling to Kitzbuhel from anywhere else in Europe, you can use the website link below to book a train. The "Deutsche Bahn" is the main German train company.
Once you get to Kitzbuhel, you can either rent a car in Kitzbuhel (e.g. with Sixt car rental in the city) or order Taxis within Kitzbuhel.
